Kalmbach Feeds came to us with a bold ambition: to create a digital presence that matches the strength of their operations and the warmth of their culture. As a family-owned, high-tech agricultural business competing with industry giants like Purina and Cargill’s Nutrena, Kalmbach needed a site that could tell a uniquely balanced story—one of uncompromising quality, deep-rooted values, and exceptional customer care.
Kalmbach’s digital presence needed to serve a wide audience—from large-scale commercial buyers to individual customers browsing for the best feed for their unique needs. With no plans for e-commerce but a desire to direct customers to dealer locations or Amazon listings, the site had to guide users to products quickly and clearly. Another large focus for the redesign was for lead generation, focusing on highlighting career opportunities and promoting Kalmbach’s growing suite of services and products—all without losing sight of what makes Kalmbach special: their people, passion, and pursuit of quality.
Our Strategic Approach
We led with clarity—simplifying navigation, organizing content around user needs, and streamlining the path to finding products and local dealers. We built space to showcase Kalmbach’s quality promise, including their industry-leading QA process, transparent ingredient sourcing, and team of on-staff nutritionists. At the same time, we wove in their human story: the family roots, the open-door culture, and the “whatever it takes” service mindset that sets them apart.
We designed the site to expand with them—adding areas that promote contract barn partnerships, commercial services, and a vibrant careers section to help attract like-minded talent. A newsletter signup feature supports their push to grow a customer database, and scalable product templates accommodate packaging variations across their lineup.
Results
The new site presents Kalmbach as both approachable and elite—a company that can out-care and out-perform its competitors. With clear pathways to purchase, digestible product information, and a digital tone that blends warmth with professionalism, Kalmbach’s online presence now mirrors the experience customers have offline: high-touch, high-tech, and always grounded in doing the right thing.
