In partnership with Columbus City Council President Shannon G. Hardin, The Ohio State University Office of Diversity and Inclusion established a vital new program called the Boys and Young Men of Color (BYMOC) Collective.
The Mission
The collective's mission is to use data to dismantle racist policies, practices, and procedures by developing and driving new policies, investment allocation, and practice recommendations. The ultimate goal is simply to enrich the quality of life for young men of color in central Ohio.
Crafting an Inclusive Brand
Our challenge was to craft an inclusive brand and web experience that served as a dynamic hub for sharing updates on the collective's endeavors and the transformative impacts being made, championing educational opportunities, and highlighting access to available community resources.
Empowering Boys and Young Men of Color
In pursuit of this vision, we sought to cultivate a brand identity that exudes gravitas yet evokes a feeling of positive change and forward momentum. Utilizing a torn-edged motif in our photography and graphic elements, we acknowledge the fragmented landscape of contemporary policy. This motif serves as a poignant reminder of the challenges young men of color face every day. To counterbalance, we infused our design with disruptive and vibrant colors, symbolizing the commitment to drive change and innovation.
